Alternative to armbands

I just can't blow armbands up, can't blow balloons up either! What are some alternatives to armbands to help them float?

Shark fin that straps round the body is fun and effective! Also w had some foam float armbands and you can of course get the regular body floats as jackets or belts.

Do you have a link to any of these at all?

The swim discs (on 3Nations link) are what my dc were given at their swimming lessons - better than blow up arm bands as a) not so bulky on little arms, and b) easy to gradually take one, then two off as they don't need them but are a bit nervous of not having anything.

Body vest is good as keeps them in a position in the water more like that they will be in without armbands. So less of a tricky transition.

Thank you everyone. I was looking at the ones on the site but it seems like they're all suitable from 15-30kgs and my daughter's nowhere near 15kgs! The only one that didn't say that was the swim discs like you said backforgood. Are they comfortable? My little girl is small for age, doesn't weigh much - would they still stay on her arm do you think?

can't you just ask someone else to blow the armbands up before you leave for the pool?

BarbarianMum · 05/01/2016 11:40

I found that swim discs tended to slip off little arms quite easily and preferred armbands for that reason. I think in your position I'd go for a body vest w floats.

would she be OK in 11kg+ flotation aids

purpleme12 · 05/01/2016 16:28

She's not 23lbs yet is that the smallest one they do?

How old is she??
1-2yrs, but if she's a 1 yr old dot, it might be to big

Swim discs fitted my dinky dd1 from about one - these ones:

Much better than armbands, they stay on and don't deflate, quite apart from the blowing them up issue.

Puts them in a natural positing for swimming unlike arm bands or back fins

purpleme12 · 05/01/2016 18:17

Desertordessert she's 26 months but just gone into 12-18 clothes so I guess that last one you posted might fit. Thanks for all the suggestions I'll have a think
