reusables and colour running.......

i have a question for users of reusable nappies. i know u are not to use bleach, fabric conditioners but how about those colour-run prevention sheets. they are basically a sheet of paper (chemically treated of course) that you put into the drum of the machine along with yr load and it prevents any colour running onto other clothes. i want to wash my light coloured nappies with my dark coloured nappies, mostly pocket nappies. So can I use these sheets??? or will they stop the nappy working properly...

please help - any advice would be appreciated.

have you already washed the nappies?

If so then you won't need to keep them seperate. Mine never ran. I had the hot pink fuzzy bunz and that never ran onto white nappies. The only tijme I had a problem was with some fleece that i bought for liners and the first time I wshed them they ran a bit. Nothing major though

I have only had colour running with my fleece red wrap, and that was only the first wash (ooh, or my tie dye ones, but that was to be expected).

what make are the nappies? i use weenees and the covers for these are all wonderful bright colours, i wash them and my white terry liners in the same wash and the color has never run,
in fact my whites are whiter than white still!

thank you very much for all the advice. i've got some swaddlebees, fuzzi bunz, nature baby, minki huggles and the stuffable minkis. the minki ones are dark colours (green, black etc).

i havent washed the nappies yet - should i just put them all in together at 60 degrees, half the persil non-bio and perhaps some white vinegar (btw what is white vinegar & where can i buy???)???

many thanks

i'd still probably give the darker one's one wash on there own first. to be safe.

but after that i;d think they'd be fine.

good luck

me too just incase the fleece runs. Just wash them ont heir own for the first 3 washes (which you will need to do to get them absorbent anyway)

So washed the nappies today - darks with whites, fleeces liners, inserts, boosters and wraps.... and the nappies did not run.

big [fsmiles]. i only washed the wraps twice, but washed the rest 3 times, twice with little powder and once without. cant wait for them to dry now to try on dd2..

Thank you so so so much for all your advice..
