Metanium nappy rash ointment - white marks?

Ds has got a bit of nappy rash so I bought some of the metanium nappy rash ointment in the yellow tube, as it said it was for treatment rather than prevention.

Is it normal that it leaves white marks over his nappy rash after he's been in a nappy for a while? I'm pretty sure it's just the inside of the nappy sticking to the ointment, but a tiny part if me is worrying about some kind of fungal infection!

Yes normal. Metanium is great at clearing up nappy rash but it is very drying. The white marks are probably dry skin - both my babies got this with metanium.

Oh phew thank you. Did you moisturise the dry areas or wait for nappy rash to clear up first?

It works by drying up the moisture that has created the rash... Just leave until the rash has gone!
