DD 2.8 separation anxiety?

My daughter who is 2 years 8 months has terrible separation anxiety. I try to take her to nursery but if I leave she gets so hysterical she nearly makes herself be sick. She enjoys the play but wants me there too which means I can't do anything at home. I'm reluctant to just go and leave her to cry as the next day she just won't go and as nearly 7 months pregnant and with SPD I can't carry her the whole way there.

Does anyone have any ideas/tips? It's getting very stressful but I want her to get used to playing with other children and being with other adults other than DH, my DPs and myself.

For the nursery drop, I'd make a parting ritual (a hug, a goodbye) and then leave immediately.
Repetition is very important for a young child. The more times you play out the scenario (you drop her at nursery, the world doesn't end and she goes to play) the more confident she will grow.
You could also try using a 'security object' a toy or teddy she associates with you that you give to her when you leave her at nursery.
It takes time though and YOUR confidence is just as important as she'll sense any rising tension/anxiety in you when it comes to drop off.
Good luck!
