12 year old - lazy?

My 12 year old sister is constantly falling asleep, if they visit anyone she will fall asleep at their house, if she's at home she will fall asleep on the couch, when she gets in from school she sometimes falls asleep in her bedroom...if she pretends to be ill to have the day off school (Its obvious she's pretending, just my mum is soft on her!) she will fall asleep after breakfast whilst lying on the couch pretending to be ill, surely this isnt normal?

I think she needs some iron tablets.

Narcolepsy?

There was a TV programme about children with Narcolepsy and for some it is a real problem. Whats she like as school?

Whats she like AT school?

Is she definitely sleeping at night or does she have lots of things in her room that she could be occupying her time with ie computer/tv etc? She wouldn't be the first sneaky 12 year old!!! I used to read after my parents went to bed.

She could just be growing and that does make you sleepy but her sleepiness seems excessive. I think maybe a trip to the docs for a blood test may be a good idea.
