Hello All,
I applied for my son to join the modelling agency m0del (the O isn't a letter it's number zero) and he got selected. He his 5 month and 3 weeks.

I know I should of done the research beforehand however I can't find much info on the agency now and to find info is from the website only. Has anyone come across this website. I applied through Facebook.

Let me know Smile
Thanks
Nas

I can only speak as I find wheeze65. There was most definitely NO harrassment, coercion or undue influence used at Studio94 or since by Model Agency. Everyone on here got their 'free' photo shoot and assessment didn't they? So no-one has been scammed. You either say you want the photos or you don't. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the problems, as I see it, seem to have arisen when people have agreed to buy the photos, take the photos away and then decide they don't want to pay for them? Well everyone would like to do that, download them then send the CD back and cancel their standing order. I'm not sure who is scamming who in this situation?

CliveHurst · 01/03/2016 00:06

BIS Employment Agency Standards have told me that they cannot find any trace of a 'working' office for M0del or Blackberry. All they can find are accommodation addresses. They cannot find any staff from these two agencies. So where are they operating from - thin air? I have now been told by their finance company - that they no longer do any business with NYC Studios or Limitless Photography. What a surprise... I wonder why? There are no pictures of those running M0del/Blackberry, but we do have a photo of the chap who registered the web sites - James Wilson. I wonder if he has got a modelling job yet? Click: www.blackberrymodels.co.uk/models/male/james-sefton-wilson-66330/ If the owners of Blackberry/M0del would like to tell us all where there office actually is, I am sure that government 'agencies' would be delighted to know. Perhaps they are off to Spain?

TanDawson · 01/03/2016 01:19

000000blue Why do I get the feeling that you are non other than Anthony Jones/Abigail Ducksbury/Chrissy?? Or are you one of their so called employees that have no conscience? Slating actual findings and declaring them untrue? How do you explain 'Nicola Jones' and 'Jim Wilson' being linked to all the names your fake agency has used thus far?

If you aren't the con artists behind this elaborate scam, you are most definitely part of it as any sane parent/person would ensure that the company they are disclosing personal details to is legally registered to trade in the UK, this company as the many others they have used are not registered nor recognised in the UK.

The 'EUMA' also does not exist, have you contacted the actual agencies featured? NONE have heard of the EUMA and have not authorised the use of their details on this fake site set up to try dupe parents and aspiring models to believe that they are registered to an association.

If you are indeed an actual 'model' and not a member of this con, please feel free to contact the agencies listed on their EUMA page and ascertain for yourself what I have mentioned is indeed factual!

Furthermore, please feel free to contact the clients they state have approached them with work ( Boss Kids, Toys'R'Us, Argos) and you will again find they have never approached this 'agency' with work nor have they heard of them.

For those of you that haven't fallen for the obviously transparent attempt by these con artists to try legitimise their actions under the name of '000000blue' please feel free to read AMA's advice, an excerpt of which is below :

www.modelmanagement.com/modeling-advice/modeling-scams/

"Like any other industry, the modeling world has its predators. Scams happen and there are a few sure-fire modeling scams to look out for.

The Fake Agency
Most modeling agencies work on a Monday-Friday, 9-5pm basis. If you are contacted to attend an "open call" or a "talent review”, make sure it's between these hours. Also, to avoid modeling agency scams, look to see if there is a license on the wall. All agencies must be licensed. Listen to what's going on around you. Are the phones ringing? Do you hear actual work being booked? If not, it could be a modeling scam.

The Photo Mill
By far the most popular of modeling scams: this is an agency that makes its money by sending models to photographers that are on staff to shoot expensive photos and produce a comp card. These agencies don't make their money by booking work but scam models by selling pricey photography. Be suspicious of any company that forces you to shoot with a certain photographer. A legitimate agency will give you a testing list – a round-up of good photographers in your area that you'll be able to contact and pick on your own. Also, a brand new model should never print more than 500 cards at one shoot. It's simply a way to introduce yourself to clients. You shouldn't have to write your cheque out to the agency, only to the printing company directly."

Whoops @ 000000blue IF you are legitimate and I have it COMPLETELY wrong, it is clear you have been SCAMMED!!!!!! Do I feel sorry for you? Not at all, as you clearly decided to go against all aspects of common sense and countless reviews and still fall for their scam.

Wheeze65 - "000000blue" is most definitely 'Chrissy' masquerading on the same forum 'she' has slated on 'her' website. Give up Anthony Jones/Nicola Jones! You are scum that have shattered one too many dreams!

No model would defend the outfit so much without having actual physical proof that it is real, by means of proof of work obtained and payment for the same being received, it is clearly a means to try to dupe more people!

Trust the proof and the advice from the AMA not the words of 000000blue!!

CliveHurst - that is most probably another 'fake' picture, they seem to think they have Marcus Collins from XFactor on their books? Kind of a give away that they are fake to be quite frank as Marcus Collins would not need to be signed to an agency!!

wheeze65 · 01/03/2016 08:03

TanDawson, I thought so as the style of writing was very like that of "Chrissy" in her emails to me. Judging by the latest batch of emails, they are getting a bit fed up of the negative exposure! Interesting to hear the Limitless Photography have withdrawn their services.

Judging by the times I received the emails and the accents heard on the phone, I think they are originating from Eastern Europe. Easy enough to set up a phone line and then have it diverted to a mobile phone anywhere in the world.

Unfortunately they will no doubt crop up again as another name and a new batch of hopefuls will lose their money.

BabyG2015 · 01/03/2016 19:06

They are still doing it :-(
Ive just been stung. Im so angry! I knew i should have trusted my gut instinct when i walked in!

BabyG2015 · 01/03/2016 20:06

Can i ask.... what i should do??
I cant say i was pressured as such, although, i did feel bad saying no... (i ended up saying yes)
I feel lied too, thats my gripe. I was sold the pictures under false pretences. I didnt need professional pictures done, i just had some done for our home and personal use. I bought these along and they told me i needed 10-12 and there was only 3-4 usable pictures that i had bought with me.
Fast forward to when im trying to upload them, and their system would only let me upload their pics, not the ones i had done previously. I messaged chrissy and he/she said that i would only need the 7.... why the hell did they sell me 7 when i already had 4 good pics to use!!!
I feel like im fighting a lost cause but i dont give up easily... ive spoken to trading standards and they are going to investigate.

000000blue · 01/03/2016 21:57

TanDawson Not only are you barking up the wrong tree; you’re not even close to the wood. I am nothing to do with Chrissy, don’t know her, don’t work for her. I just brought my review to the forum, which was a true and honest account of my dealings with Studio94 in Birmingham and mOdel agency so far. There is no need to feel sorry for me as I don’t feel I have been scammed. As I have already explained, I got my FREE photo shoot and my FREE modelling assessment. I was then offered some photos which I agreed to purchase as I didn’t have any. I can apply for work and if I am offered any and, indeed, accept any, mOdel agency will take 20%. There are reputable agencies out there charging way more than 20%. So, again, I would choose to take the work and pay the 20% or not. OR I can use my photos to promote myself to other agencies. A scam would only have been committed if I had paid money for something I never received. THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED. And CliveHurst many businesses operate from virtual offices these days. I don’t think it’s illegal? BabyG2015 How have you been stung? Like so many others on here you agreed to buy your photos (you say you “weren’t pressured”) then changed your mind once you had them. It’s much like buying a DVD, taking it home and watching it, then returning it and asking for your money back. That’s never going to happen. So why buy something you didn’t want or need in the first place? As for mOdel agency not choosing to use YOUR photos on THEIR website, again that’s their website and they are free to control the quality of the photos they choose to feature. Otherwise there would be all sorts of selfies and poor quality images on there which wouldn’t be in anyone’s best interests. Yet again, no scam, you simply bought something then changed your mind, having signed to say you understood a refund would not be provided. All that is needed going forward is for people to say no if they don’t want the photos and they don’t want to use mOdel agency. Simple.

BabyG2015 · 01/03/2016 23:08

Blue....
There is no need to be so damn right rude! Im simply asking for advice on a situation i have found myself in. So keep your crabby comments to yourself. Im all for hearing all points of view, but the way you have just delivered it, id appreciate it if you dont involve yourself or your opinion any further on my part....

Yes, i bought the pictures, but purely for a portfolio. I have not only been informed that babies under 1 dont really need a portfolio but that this certain model agency is renouned for being a scam. I have just joined a fb page for parents of child models and all state about this agency (and a few others). ITS NOT A MODELLING AGENCY!
In fact, you are the only person who has said anything good about them. The way you are conducting yourself, i think i will trest your opinion/experience as irrelevant, especially as you dont seem to havr had any work from them as of yet.

Thanks.... but no thanks...

Anyone else??

X

wheeze65 · 02/03/2016 08:06

True modelling agencies DO NOT EXPECT their models to provide their own portfolio! That is how those of us who bought the photos have been scammed! We were told M0del needed the photos and so we paid WAY OVER THE ODDS for the photos.

Remember, the cost of the shoot itself was supposed to be free, so those that have paid, think about it.... how much would you expect to pay for digital copies of pictures that have already been paid for?!

000000blue · 03/03/2016 12:06

A friend of ours is a photographer and would have charged way more for a portfolio even at ‘mates rates’! Even SmallMommy found other photographers were going to charge her more and changed her mind after walking away, wishing she had bought them...imo the photos you have the OPTION to buy (mine were fabulous btw) are not "way over the odds" as suggested by wheeze65.

For those who want to know what happens next - you then CHOOSE whether you want to work with mOdel agency (there is no tie in and no further charge if you do, just their very reasonable fee of 20% for any jobs you accept and are selected for), or promote yourself with YOUR portfolio, or submit YOUR fabulous photos to any agency or agencies you ARE happy to work with. Exactly as you would if you already had a portfolio.

So I therefore conclude, no-one has been scammed. Everyone, as far as I'm aware, (correct me if I'm wrong) had the FREE photo shoot and modelling assessment they were promised at the outset, and was given the option to buy the photos and work with mOdel agency or not.

000000blue · 03/03/2016 21:49

It would seem mOdel agency aren't unique in suggesting you need a portfolio to get started in the industry, see KLV Studio Q & A.

Q - Do I need to pay for my portfolio?
A - Every model will need to pay for their portfolio. Top fashion agencies will invest and build portfolios for their models and will take a large figure from their first pay, however not every model is lucky to sign to a top fashion agency as they have very strict requirements.
Q - Do I need professional images to approach agencies?
A - You will always need professional images to market yourself as a model, however there are some companies and agencies that will request natural images as well as professional images before making a decision.
Q - Do model agencies guarantee work?
A - No, agencies will not guarantee work. While they can represent you and market you it is ultimately the creative decision makers who organise the shoots to choose which model they want to work with, and they do that by looking at your portfolio.

Now I am sure everyone is going to suggest that this studio is also scamming. I, once again, would disagree, But, instead of simply slating anyone who dares to charge for photos, wouldn't it be more beneficial if the mums who work with agencies who DON'T charge for photos were to list them here? Together with the itemised costs they have been asked to pay? As I have done...so that any new 'would-be' models can make an informed choice.

Zara374 · 04/03/2016 00:59

You are really pushing the boat out blue boy. Or should we call you Gavin? I understand you spend a lot of time in Spain? You must really have an axe to grind? Or is it Jim (James) Wilson that registers two websites, Blackberry and M0del. CliveHurst says the government cannot find an office or an actual address they work from. Yes, there are plenty of people working from home, but they usually are willing to tell the government authorities where they actually are, so they can actually meet with them. Hiding from government authorities is not lawful. Call me old fashioned. My daughter wants all the money repaid!

000000blue · 04/03/2016 13:55

Wrong tree Zara374. I'm just a satisfied punter who takes the time to post positive truthful reviews when I receive good service. I got exactly what I was promised - a FREE photo shoot and a FREE modelling assessment. As did dozens more happy would be models I spoke to who were there with me on the day If your daughter was charged for these, having been told they were free, then I support her wholeheartedly and of course she is due a refund. Is that what happened? Surely Trading Standards is the go to place in that situation... I'm simply trying to redress the balance where people willingly paid for photos they took home with them and then decided for whatever reason they didn't actually want, because I'm struggling to get my head around that one. And I'm posting because, as I said at the outset, people who are happy with the service don't sadly generally take the time to say so on forums such as this.

BabyG2015 · 04/03/2016 14:13

Blue,
I think you are completely missing the point.....

000000blue · 04/03/2016 14:35

Which is BabyG2015?

BabyG2015 · 04/03/2016 14:43

That there is NO modeling agency.... its a ploy to get you to buy the pictures!

000000blue · 04/03/2016 20:36

As stated you don't have to use mOdel agency, you are free to use YOUR portfolio with any agency you choose to work with. If you don't think mOdel agency are kosher, simply send your photos elsewhere.

The shoot is free, the photos are excellent and very reasonably priced. It would only be a scam if you didn't get what you paid for. And there was categorically no hard sell to anyone in my group at Studio94.

Again, it would be more helpful if forum members actually promoted the agencies that provide FREE portfolios (and if they could publish what success they've had with them, and at what cost, that would be brilliant) then we could all apply there with or without our mOdel agency photos.

BabyG2015 · 04/03/2016 21:11

There is no teaching the stupid so im out.....

000000blue · 04/03/2016 22:24

I'm far from stupid BabyG. I know a scam when I see one. It really is a question of who's scamming who?

mandymoo1957 · 04/03/2016 22:50

Oh my actual god! - Firstly can I say I never usually have the need to comment online (unless it's the odd Facebook like) but after reading all of these reviews and the point blank insults to 000000blue it got my blood boiling to the point where I felt I had to make a comment...

I reflect the experience of 000000blue as I attended earlier this week with my son (who is old enough to make his own choices but I went for moral support)

I arrived at the Studio and was helped in the door as I am disabled and I am not so good with stairs, a gentleman answered the buzzer and informed us to come up to the very top floor, I informed him that this would not be easy for me as I have limited mobility, he straight away said "no problem" and came bounding down the stairs to help us, he ensured that all of our bags were carried up the stairs allowing my son to help me, he told me that we did not need to come all the way to the top and sat us down on a sofa in front of the television, he asked us what we would like to watch as it was currently on a children's channel, I told him that I liked crime drama and he changed the channel over to an appropriate program. He straight away asked if we wanted a hot beverage and said that he would come back with a form to fill in.

He came back with our drinks and the form and told us that we would be called when we were ready.

My son was called not too long after to go and get some powder applied by a makeup artist, I said I would stay put for the time being as I didn't fancy the last flight of stairs until the photoshoot.

About 15-20 minutes later I was asked if I wanted to come up to the studio and a lovely Asian girl helped me up the stairs and sat me down in the studio on another couch whereby I could watch my very handsome (ok, I'm bias) son being photographed by a gentleman who I later know to be Charlie. My son who has never done anything like this before told me that he was amazed at how comfortable he was made to feel and how he was directed by the photographer in a professional but very friendly manner.

Once the photoshoot was over we went to sit again on now some sofa's upstairs, I was again offered a drink and we were informed as to how long it might be until we could see his pictures.

It was around 45 minutes later we were called into a room with a beautiful blonde lady who looked herself like she could be a Hollywood actress... She informed us in detail about the agency and what my son could do with them, also that he could use other agencies, she even tried told my son that nothing was guaranteed as far as work was concerned, but encouraged him not only to put his pictures on the agency website but diversify and go with other agencies so it gave him more opportunity, she confirmed my own beliefs, which were "you get out what you put in", no-one gets handed the golden egg, the people that have it are those that go out and "get it!", she couldn't have been more open and honest with my son about the chances of work and that things come to those that wait but those that seek it will always be the most successful...

We both had a look through his pictures and I can honestly say, they were some of the best pictures I have ever seen (not just because it was my son) but they were just "to quote 000000blue" "1st Class"...

We were told from the offset that purchase of images were optional but after seeing the skills of the photographer, the professionalism of the studio staff as well as consultant (I think her name was Stephanie, forgive me if I’m wrong) we felt both comfortable in looking at the packages offered, we chose 30 images in total which were at a very reasonable price, considering I had a photoshoot with a friend 10 years ago in another studio in Birmingham (but different kettle of fish altogether) and the package prices were pretty much in and around the same as they were 10 years ago & yet these pictures were in a league of their own and far surpassed what I had, had done over a decade ago, but then again, technology has moved on since then...

In conclusion, I strongly feel that everyone who has given a bad review on here should be ashamed of themselves as we literally could not fault the professionalism of the staff and the quality of the pictures, absolutely not, through any of the day did any us feel "pressurized" into buying anything, they have a very "take it if you want, leave it if you don't" approach, but honestly the pictures are the best part of amazing and worth every penny which we spent, I paid ALOT more 10 years ago for pictures which were not even on the same scale as these.

I agree with 000000blue... You people who complained should take a good look in the mirror and realize that these are genuine, hardworking people, they do long hours and produce some fantastic images, whether you use them with "the agency" or not if up to you as you are free to do what you want with your pictures, no-one is forcing you to buy and if you want to sit and wait for success to come to you, then it might take some time, maybe try putting some work in yourself as obviously the agency already have regular models who they use as they have proven themselves to be reliable and professional, unless you get out there like any job, and prove yourself why do you think you're going to have a Naomi Campbell career handed to you on a plate... I really feel sorry for these people as they are being slated by those people who have spent money and now having "buyers regret" as everything was explained in detail and yet it's now become a typical UK custom to "make a complaint and get a refund"... Let’s get back to our routes, we make a decision and we stick to it... I've always said to my son, if you want to go down the "claim compensation/complain and earn" route... Then move to the US...

Fantastic staff, fantastic pictures!! That's what I will leave you with... & I just hope that these cowboys who want something for nothing get their karma as it disgusts me how the world is going...

000000blue · 05/03/2016 10:08

Well said mandymoo. They seem to be waging some kind of vendetta against mOdel agency for some reason, despite having all had what they were promised from what I can see. So I thought I would step in with my account as friends of mine were being put off by all the negativity and scamming hype on here. As I have said, people are quick to leave bad reviews and don't often take the time to leave good ones.

What I would say is go to mOdel agency for your FREE photo shoot experience and model assessment - it's great! And walk away if it's not for you. There will be no hard sell of photos, just sound practical advice. But don't expect to pay for your photos, take your CD home with you to download and use, and then expect to get your money back. That would be really stupid...

natashaR6 · 05/03/2016 10:38

hi I signed my daughter up with these too she went for a test shoot and got offered a contract with them. I was going to buy the pictures from the shoot for her portfolio but then found a studio closer to home and also wouldn't cost me as much so I contacted m0del and told them I didn't want the pictures as I had had some others done and as soon as I didn't want the pictures from them I haven't been able to upload her profile or cannot get in touch with them at all, no one is returning my messages etc so I do believe it is a scam I would recommend staying away to any other parents.

000000blue · 05/03/2016 10:56

What would be helpful to know please natashaR6 is whether you have managed to find ANY agency who will sign your daughter using your own portfolio? And whether anyone knows of agencies who actually give you a portfolio for free?

wheeze65 · 05/03/2016 12:18

www.nemesisagency.co.uk/become-a-model

"Watch out for bogus agents charging fees to join their books or for photographs to get you into modelling. Beware of “photographers” on social media like Facebook offering to do photographs for you."

Even other modelling agencies are warning about companies like M0del!

And yes, we were subjected to a hard sell. The agent at the photographers even suggested my daughter take out a loan to buy the photographs when she said she didn't have enough money to buy more than 5 photos.
