Advice on weaning off the breast

I am starting to try and wean my one year old son off the breast. He is eating generally well, drinking water quite happily from a cup and has gradually been cutting down feeds of his own accord. He isn't interested in cows milk as a drink at all and is refusing half and half ebm and cows milk but has settled the last few nights regardless.
Any tips on how to wean him completely? Is drinking cows milk necessary before I can stop feeding him? I want to be consistent with this so any tips would be very gratefully received

Drinking cow's milk isn't necessary, but he will need to get enough dairy intake in other forms (cheese, yoghurt etc)

I would suggest a gradual approach unless you have a reason to wean ASAP.

How do you feed at the moment? On demand? If yes change that first and establish certain times when you will bf, e.g. to sleep or first thing in the morning. Then cut back on those one at a time.

Does he feed through the night? If yes I'd tackle that next. I found the Dr J Gordon method quite helpful.

I'm interested in this too. My DD will drink any milk so that's not an issue, but hoping to gradually stop breastfeeding in next couple of months, selfish, but I want my boobs back! I have found the cup I give milk in is important, she will take a bottle but has always preferred an open cup. Try a straw cup or doidy cup maybe?

We are trying to get DD weaned off over the next month or two, it's hard, as up till now she wouldn't take any other milk off me. But finally got her to take a bottle off me today. Going to try and introduce a routine- 3 feeds a day, then cut back to two etc. For us the container makes a difference- only a bottle will do! Ideally want her off bottles ASAP, but I figure one step at a time!
