I've been invited to a baby shower, I didn't have one before My daughter was born and neither did my friends.

Just need advice on what gifts to buy, do j send a card...if so what?? Sorry but pretty clueless about this ConfusedBlush

Shower is short for 'shower with gifts' so no it's not just a card.

But it needn't be an expensive gift, maybe pretty muslins or baby toiletries (it should be something that you have no need of before parenthood, as it's a rite of passage from the one state to the other).

either take whatever present you would normally buy for a new baby and then no present after the birth, or get something small and tell the prospective mum you'd rather give your gift when baby is here.

I personally would take a present to the shower and then send a card after baby is born.
