leaking pocket nappies!

Hello, i have bought a nature babies stuffable lite for dd who is 5 months old. I liked them as they were less bulky than her one life nappy and wrap (although they are brilliant and never had any leaks) I have stuffed the nappy with a micro terry insert and then folded a microfibre cloth inside and within an hour they have leaked around the leg and wet the vest.

Has anyone else had this prob with these nappies? Any tips...could i be doing something wrong? DD is on solids now and have noticed that she is wetting more and am changing her one life every 2 hours. Do you all change this often too?

i have a thread at the minute about my nature babiesdizzy diaper. the fleece is repelling water so the pee is just running off the sides.

have tried stripping it as someone recommended but don't know yet if it's worked.

I've just started using nature babies stuffables too (with tots bots bamboo liners)and am finding they leak one nappy in 3. I am going to buy a couple of motherease type wraps and try over the stuffable. I know that will make them a little more bulky but it will save the never ending changes of vests!! BTW I also chose them because they were less bulky maybe that was the wrong reason!

I bought the nature babies stuffables for when my 72 year old mum looks after my two boys as she was struggling to pin the toddler down through liner, nappy, nippa and poppered wrap. They have worked fine so far. I can't remember where I read it, but you need to keep the stuffing as flat as poss, ie just stuff with a small size flat nappy or prefold as if you stuff them too much the stuffed part becomes 'rounded' and the liquid or runny poo rolls straight off the fleece and into the leg cuff area. So think 'less is more' and hopefully they will work better!

I've had the same problem too, though with the gussetted Stuffables (new style), not the Lites. It didn't seem to make any difference what I stuffed it with - I've tried various combinations of EH hemp inserts, microfibre cloths and inserts, and terry boosters, with various thicknesses of stuffing, and they've all leaked within 20 mins or so.

Someone pointed me to a couple of the FAQs on the Fuzzi Bunz site so I've started working my way through those.

Another suggestion was to tumble-dry (on low) after a wash with no detergent. Mine had only ever been washed with a wash ball anyway, and never tumbled, so I tried a wash with bio detergent and then a tumble dry. Have just tried one nappy again (stuffed with just a large microfibre cloth) and I'm not really sure if there was a significant improvement but I think it was bit better - though she was only wearing a vest and Babylegs so it's hard to gauge how soon her clothes would have got wet otherwise. Eventually the vest did get pretty wet but by that time the mf cloth was completely sodden so it's no wonder!
