How do I get my baby to understand this and not get up at some ungodly hour. Any tips....

My mum swore by changing it half an hour tonight then half an hour tomorrow

MissTwister · 24/10/2015 17:40

She's still so little though she goes down anytime between 7 and 8 but is always up at 7am!

When DDs were small I spent a few nights moving their bedtime by 20 mins each night, then the bloody clocks went back and I realised I'd been going the wrong way Confused

I posted the other day about DD getting up later after the change and how that will be good.

Some kind poster told me I was wrong and she'll be getting up earlier SadBlush

For some reason we have done it today. The grandparents are filling the extra hour for us. We are all over the place with a newborn. I don't know if that is better or worse!

Littlef00t · 24/10/2015 19:01

I'm dreading it too. Dd has been really ill and getting up at 5:30/6am this week. I even tried a 30min later bedtime last night and she was still up at 6am. I see a 5am survival thread tomorrow!

BlueThursday · 24/10/2015 19:03

Meet you all back here at 530 for coffee - DD is ill too

Littlef00t · 25/10/2015 07:06

Morning. Up at 5:40, better than expected. Anyone about?

Amummyatlast · 25/10/2015 07:10

I was up at 5am, sigh.

JimmyGreavesMoustache · 25/10/2015 07:14

"only" 5.30 am here

I wished I'd remembered about bloody daylight savings earlier though - we've got tickets to an early Halloween event tonight. we're not normally out that late but thought it would be a lovely half-term treat. Am now more than a little bit Hmm at how shattered the kids will be tonight.

Actual 7 o'clock here! Think it's because DD isn't well - it won't last!

wishingchair · 25/10/2015 07:47

When mine were little I remember it used to take around a week for them to adjust Confused

Littlef00t · 25/10/2015 08:50

Ah, I've currently got the fun of DH saying 'you cope better without sleep than me' to justify me getting up with her when it was his turn. Fun fun.

Fraggled · 25/10/2015 08:57

4.30 am here. As expected!

daisychain1991 · 25/10/2015 10:19

5 here. We watched youtube in bed!

ShowOfHands · 25/10/2015 10:27

The clock changes never bothered me. The DC always slept the amount of time they slept, regardless of what the clock told them so I didn't invest any sort of worry in it. I carried on regardless with the putting them to bed when they were tired and waking up when they woke up. In reality, nothing changed.

However, I had extremely poor sleepers and after the first six night wakings, the numbers on the clock were meaningless. Every night was some kind of torture.

For pure nostalgia, DS is ill atm and his sleep is all over the shop. After the eighth time of him coughing himself awake, nearly vomiting, crying with distress and clambering all over me, the clock change just didn't register.

MissTwister · 25/10/2015 13:31

5:45 here which isn't too bad. However I couldn't sleep before so up for hours!!

So what time did everyone manage to hold out til for bedtime. Dd went to bed 15 mins 'early'. I suspect she'll just be up as early but knackered tomorrow. Glad the childminder gets to sort her out! Poor love with half a dozen out of routine kids to look after!

BlueThursday · 25/10/2015 19:37

Only till 645 and hasn't had her final bottle :(

She's still sick though so I can't say for certain it's the cock change.

She refused an afternoon nap today and was so grumpy the whole day - I'm done in!!
