After school activities straw poll.....

We do 2 after school activities pre week with each child plus an instrument, but I am now questioning my decision to keep them to a minimum as lots of their friends seem to be doing loads and loads per night not just weekly. Are my dc missing out? I have been careful to make time for being together, homework, quiet time, but maybe I wrong.

How many hobbies and activities do your children do?

The way I look at it, not everyone has the same capacity or the same amount of energy.
Dc1 really wanted to do doe competitive swimming. I said NO because I knew deep down it would be too much for him and h would end exhausted.
If dc2 had asked, I would have left him because his reserves of energy are bigger.

You know what works for your DCs, don't compare yourself to other parents, compare your DCs to other children. And please don't do like someone I know who seems to think that dropping out from exhaustion from taking your DCs to xxx is a great thing to do.
It isn't. Not fit yourself. Not for the DCs who won't have learnt to look after themselves.
