Flu vaccine for 2 yr old

Will you be getting the vaccine for your DCs?

I was at the GP's yesterday with DS (2.2mo) due to a persistent cough and the GP asked if I'd considered it.

I never get it myself as the one year I had it done, I was really ill and bedridden! Haven't bothered since and never needed it.

I obviously want the best for DS, but wary given my own experience. WWYD?

I'd bite their hands off.

Love the 'flu vaccine.

Never had it (or the 'flu) myself, but noticeably less sickness in the house since kids started having it.

My 3 year old is booked in in a few weeks and also had it last year at 2.

My son didn't have it last year and I don't think he's having it this year either. I had it once only because I was pregnant. But my nan had it and she ended up in hospital because of it. So probably not.

Just been doing a bit of research and due to his age it'd be a nasal spray rather than an injection. Bit happier with it if that's the case, although still not quite sure!

I didn't even have it when I was pregnant, that's how ill I was when I'd had it before..

Mine had the nasal spray last year at 2,and will be having it again this year. No side effects at all and I'm glad he had it.

My ds has just recently turned 2 and he is booked in for the nasal spray next Friday. My nan works in a doctors' surgery and she recommended it for him. for me it's benefits outweigh the risks

Oh yes, I was presuming nasal spray.

You don't even have the crying and parental guilt.

So easy.

My 2 year old had it, I was very pleased with it.

I've had my flu vaccine yearly since.... Forever? I have asthma. Ds has asthma too, hes nearly 6 and he got the jab this year as the surgery didn't have the spray in yet and the nurse agreed that with his history he needed to be vaccinated asap. I think he's had one every year of his life. My dd is 4, she will be being called for the nasal spray soon. She missed it last year for various reasons.

I've just booked DS in for next Friday. Thanks for the feedback everyone.
