Bedwetting, co sleeping, best waterproof sheets for Double bed?

My DS is 3.5 and the last few days has regressed into bedwetting, he has a cold so maybe its that.
Anyway, we have a full bed waterproof sheet but it isn't waterproof at the sides and he always seems to get it over the edge so the mattress gets wet!

I have some smaller flat sheets but the same thing happens, or he moves around so much that he's off the sheet (we co sleep)

IS there such a thing as a complete waterproof mattress cover that covers the sides as well as the top? or a waterproof mattress?

So the mattress stays dry - but YOU lie in wet sheets with him? Bugger that - put him in pull ups until the cold goes!!!

YEs, DH said Pull ups. I'm thinking more generally, for future as we'd like to have more kids.
Been looking at waterproof mattresses today. We've been doing nappy free with DS in the past and would with future kids so we need something serious ;)

Yes there is no chance you'd get me sleeping in a wet bed. Bleugh.

On a more helpful note I would suggest getting some bed mats and putting them under the sheet and around the mattress.

Hippy chick used to do a flat water proof sheet, I suppose you could put that over the edge of the bed and then put the one that you have already over the top.

I would also look on a sightly more crunchy forum where you may be more likely to find people who have co slept and done the CC.

We've got a John Lewis quilted one, but it doesn't cover the sides. While DD very rarely wets the bed - perhaps twice in the last year - the hassle if she is in our bed at the time is huge. It isn't worth putting her in pull-ups for a twice yearly event.

I think BHS do double bed sized ones which are waterproof over the sides. From my experience (not cosleeping - DS was still in nappies back when we did that) you need a towel on top or you end up with a lake which spreads everywhere. The other thing to bear mind is that they are horribly sweaty for grown ups.
