Nap chaos - help. Also BF question

My DD (6 months old) used to be fab at naps and bedtime sleep and now she is very hard to get down at nap time. She will only sleep right on or next to me (i.e. in the baby carrier of glued to the breast). When I put her down, even if she seems fast asleep, she wakes up and cries. I have an older child at home and so it is just not sustainable.

My question about breastfeeding is how long does your 6 month old nurse for per feed? Mine does for ages and I'm not sure if it really is for food or just comfort sucking. Thanks.

I can't really help answer this - my memory's not that good - but if you try posting this in infant feeding then you might get more answers to the breastfeeding question?

I have exactly the same issues with ds, hrs just 6 months and has always napped badly but now it's got ridiculous. I can't put him down at all. I use a sling though for two sleeps a day, where he'll do 30 -40 mins. I also then am trying to get one longer nap, feeding him to sleep lying down, then rolling away...I have to go back and settle loads though. I walk a lot with him, or put him in the buggy and roll it back and forth in the house. He would sleep attached to my boob if he could.

Apparently there's a slight separation anxiety at this point as they realise they're separate from you, a leap at about wk25 and a growth spurt...so lots going on! Maybe just try riding it out until it passes.
