Well, he doesn't need taming as such, just pointing in the right direction!
Part of the problem is that he's waking before 5 most mornings, and won;t go back to sleep. We have tried and tried taking him back to bed, but he's ready to start his day by then. He won;t even play in his room on his own, which we have been trying to taech him to do, he want to get into bed with us, which I wouldn't really mind him doing if he got in for a cuddle, but he just b9ounces up and down until we get up. Not what you need at 5am when it's brass monkeys, is it???
Anyway, all this early waking is making me run on a short fuse, and all the little irritating things that he does, which I repeatedly ask him not to, are really getting to me. Like pressing the buttons on the stereo, or pushing jis toys down the back of the TV. I literally need to be with him all the time, which isn't always possible, as I have to deal with DS2 somtimes. I try to involve him in all that I do, lik unloading the washing machine etc, but he will still do things that I ask him not to many times over, and then I end up shouting at him, which I hate doing. I have just bawled him out for throwing a cushion at a plant on top of the TV, which caused no end of mess and swearing from me.
What sort of techniques can I use to get him to understand when he's done/doing something he shouldn't be? I have tried time out type things, but he keeps getting up. "No" has no effect on him, and he just laughs.
Help!!!!!
He's 2 weeks short of his 2nd bday, btw.
