Hi, has anyone been on a flight recently with a baby? just want to check it is ok for me to buy a couple of ready made formula bottles to take on the flight I would buy them at home before we set off. I have read that baby milk is ok to take. Do they make you open and taste them or is it ok if they are sealed?

Also what have you done for making up bottles with powdered formula while on holiday?

I have part breastfeeding and part bottle feeding which should make it a bit easier at times. Any other holiday tips are welcome!

I recently flew to Florida with my 6 month old. I preordered ready made milk to pick up at boots airside. I took a few bottles through with me just in case and they checked one. They put it in this machine they didn't actually open it.

I was staying in my parents holiday home so I just made up bottles as normal. Do you have a powder dispenser? You should be able to get boiling water everywhere you go just make up the bottles as and when.

We are flying from a small airport early in the morning so the one shop that sells baby milk will mot likely be closed when we are there. So will need to take the pre made formula with me.
I have some powder dispensers so should be ok when we are there to make them up as normal. Do I just use the tap water boiled as normal or do I need to use bottled water?

We've been away twice with our 8 month old and it really is easier the younger they are.

Ready mades will be fine to take through with you, they might get scanned depending on the airport. The family behind us las week actually had a bottle filled and that was fine too it just got scanned

Most places with shops or supermarkets will have baby friendly water for sale. Bigger supermarkets tend to have a full aisle for baby waters. If you're unsure Evian is pretty good and usually available in most places

The NHS website has a section on acceptable sodium levels for bottled water. Take a screenshot of that and compare when buying water

If you're still sterilising bottles the bags from boots are great. We used them the first time away with DD. this last time we took some but found the hotel water to be acceptably hot so bought fairy and just washed them like we do at home

Boiling water from the tap will be fine. I did buy a bottle of baby friendly water from the supermarket for drinking water though.

Blue Thursday is right it was so much easier than I thought it would be and a great age to take them away!

Milk got scanned on the way back and totally ignored on the way out. But fly side Boots will almost certainly have them to buy.
