Fainting ds

Does anyone else's child faint at the sight of blood? Ds is 6 and had many fainting spells after he has his hurt himself. He is usually fine until he sees blood or a graze then he goes grey,faints and on coming too is sick. I've taken him to the drs before but they said it's nothing to worry about and he will grow out of it. Obviously it worries me tho. Has anyone else had the same with their child?

My mum is/was the same if that helps. For her the important thing is to know that it's coming and sit down somewhere safe. She's now nearly 70 and how she got through child birth twice I don't know.
