Teething - is this normal?

Dd is currently cutting her two top teeth. Over the weekend this lump appeared in front of the new tooth. Today it's less swollen and starting to turn white at the tip. The tooth can be felt breaking through in the normal position. Don't remember DS ever having this. Any ideas? Normal or trip to the dr needed? TIA

I would take her to the doc.

I agree either see your health visitor or go to doctor

It looks very much like an abscess. Your baby will need antibiotics if this is what it is. It's not life threatening but can become serious if left untreated. The sooner you go to the docs the better because the infection can spread and get even worse.

Could just be an eruption hematoma/cyst. My son had a couple and one looked like this and ended up with a little piece of blood and gum stuck right out the middle like a mini tombstone. It all resolved itself very quickly once the tooth was through and didn't cause any issues.

I agree with the other posters however, maybe get it checked out if you are unsure.
