using distilled vinegar for steriliser?

Ive borrowed a friends steriliser but it needs de scaling, Google says to use white vinegar but I've only found distilled, is it the same thing?
Has anyone used it?

Yes I think so. You can also buy citric acid from the chemist which is good.

Vinegar smells a lot worse than citric acid too!!
