Alternatives to soft play for 3 year old's birthday?

Can you suggest some alternative birthday party ideas for my DS(3) other than going to soft play (Please, no!) It will be Autumn so nothing reliant on good weather. It will be for 8-10 children of a similar age. Having a party at home is not an option, and nor is not having a party at all, as he is very excited by the village hall party we've just had for his older sibling (we had lots more children to invite to that party)

Do you have a wacky warehouse type pub near you? So soft play but you can buy alcohol at the same time

Seriously though could you hire the same village hall and maybe a small bouncy castle and hire a superhero or his fave cartoon character to turn up??

Village hall with balloons, an assortment of big toys and some craft activities.

Soft play for 10 @ £10 p/head = £100

Bouncy Castle hire costs between £50-70, plus village hall for 2hrs circa £20 plus party food circa £15. Chuck in a few ballons/party bags/hula hoops etc and job done at similar cost, whilst avoiding the hell of soft play.

There are also companies which hire out soft play blocks / ball pits / bounce on animals and ride on cars

Yep, village hall + bouncy castle is the standard one for that age. Every. Single. Time.

Best one I went to also had a box of wine. /protip

Otherwise is there an enjoy-a-ball franchise near you? they do parties you just need a venue and snacks/cake

or one of those animal man type people, agian just get the hall and snacks/cake.

I hate bouncy castles with wild 3 year olds!

My BF had a village hall for her DS's 1st to 3rd birthdays. She got everyone to bring a ride on toy to share if they had one. Those, a few balloons and a massive cardboard box to draw on seemed perfect. She was also really happy to have older siblings around which was really nice for the little ones.

I'm too mean to do parties for more than 3 children until age 4!
