4 yo and eating

Been here aaaaages but following the hacking saga I couldn't login with my previous username...

Anyway, I'm having an issue with my 4 yo DD2 and eating, namely the speed at which she eats. I'm talking 40+ minutes for a sandwich. I can give her a bowl of cereal, go and make myself toast and eat said toast by which time she'll only have eaten a quarter of the cereal for example. It's not that she isn't hungry, she does eat a decent amount (we don't insist on clearing plates) but is just so slow!

I don't want to be pressuring her, but it's got a bit ridiculous. She's starting school soon and I'm concerned she'll be rushed and end up not eating. I've tried setting a limit but she'll just say she's had enough but still be hungry.

Suggestions?

Please don't worry. Yes she will start off in school by eating slowly, looking around, chatting etc but she will soon realise that if she doesn't eat quick enough she'll be hungry. I'd just take a small snack with you when you pick her up Smile
