Holiday club drama!

DD age 10 is currently crying her eyes out in bed. She has to go to holiday club for 3 days this week. This club is her usual after school club and she likes it normally but because her friends aren't going she is weeping and wailing.

I feel awful
but we have used up all leave and have no or to help out. It's a nice club, the staff are great and really make SN effort. Her 6 yr old brother also goes but plays football with anyone who is there. No problems with him.

I can hear her crying! I've explained the situation! I feel terrible! There is nothing I can do is there?

Make an effort not SN effort.

DS is like this about holiday club, then has a good time when he's there.
It's really hard isn't it. I have tried to find other activities he prefers, but I think it's just having to go to a club in the holidays.

At 10 yrs old she is old enough to understand why she is going.

My DD was exactly the same. I was working so not going was not an option. I reminded her that my wages paid for the extra activities she and her brother did.
