Snacks for 6 month old?

I'm struggling so much for snacks I end up giving DD baby biscuits (the Heinz biscotti ones) or rice cakes
What else can I give her?
I have completely forgotten what I gave DD1!

Fruit and full fat fromage fraiche yoghurts? Also sticks of salad vegetables.

Breadsticks
Fruit pouch
Baby 'crisps'
Blueberries (halved), raspberries, strawberries
Ripe canteloupe melon/peach/pear slices

I struggle too as we're normally out so mostly opt for the Goodies gingerbread men (less crumbly than Heinz biscuits) if I'm not organized.

Malt loaf, crumpets, mini bagels, fruit, raisins...Ds has a biscuit snack at practically every toddler group we go to!

6 months? I was barely getting a few spoons of mush in never mind snacks!

My DS gets an afternoon snack about 3 times a week, he just doesn't seem to need them but if I feel he is hungry then he gets half a nana or a whole plain rice cake.

Bread stick, kiddilicious wafers, carrot sticks or cucumber, donut peaches going down well too

Flat bread/chapattis' are our normal snack (flour and water, made at home).

DD is loving rice cakes just now

At 6mo does she need snacks??? Maybe it's just me but I thought at this age milk was still very much the predominant "food"

Mine is only just snacking at 10 months. I give Tesco baby "puffs" and Ellas lentil sticks, sliced tomato (favourite), cucumber, corn cakes (like rice cakes but more fibre), cracker wheat crackers with cream cheese or peanut butter, croissant, blueberries, crumpet and butter, halved grapes, breads ticks, cornflakes, mini weetabix.
Often these also get combined with cheese or meat for a finger food meal (ie a carb plus a veg plus a protein) as she's a nibbler.

We didn't start snacks until about 10 months but she has:

Organix crisps
Organix biscuits and bars
Raisins
Chunk of cheese
All kinds of fruit
Cut up cherry tomatoes, cucumber or avocado

DS is also 6 months and we have started weaning on 2 meals a day plus snacks. he loves it so why not? milk is still being offered...all the fricking time....so I don't see it being a problem :)

we have:
fruit
Ella's grippy biscuits
a banana...tried giving half. didn't work, he wanted it all
Bread sticks with dip
cucumber

we haven't been doing it for long so most food is snack type food at the moment. I'm trying moussaka tomorrow though so that should be fun!

I don't think people aren't giving snacks as they're refusing them.

It's just at 6 months, many/most babies would not be hungry for them. One small meal, maybe 2, would be plenty.
It can be worrying for parents to think their child 'should' be on 2 or 3 meals plus snacks at a time when it's absolutely fine for them still to be taking a nibble of veg or a few spoons of cereal.

imwithspud · 10/08/2015 11:21

No harm in the odd snack at 6 months, as long as it's not replacing their milk. It's more to help them learn how to self feed and try new flavours rather than filling them up. Some things I would have let my DD1 sample at that age were:
Cucumber sticks
Carrot Sticks
Various Fruit - banana, strawberries, raspberries, grapes halved, blueberries halved, kiwi, orange etc
Crumpet/Bagel/Toast
Breadsticks
Tomato
Cheese
