Where do you put DC when showering?

I do my "big" showers at night ie when I need to wash my hair

Up till now I've had DD in her swing with me in the bathroom for my morning shower which is only 5 mins or so.

However, I think she's getting too big for the swing and is starting to lean forwards in it.
I'm worried she's going to topple out.

I was thinking of leaving her in her cot while I shower but not sure how she'll take it, what does everyone else do?

I suppose I could give the cot a go but I guess I'm worried she'll be screaming and I won't notice

Just in bathroom on floor with small basket of bath toys. Laying down when small, then left them crawling around once able. Just close the door so they are trapped in bathroom with me.

Once sitting they often came in shower with me, just sat in tray away from direct spray with a cup or cloth or bath toy 10 mins . Me at they were washed at same time also. Bonus

I used a graco entertainer for that. It depends what are your baby is.

When she was crawling I just used to leave the door open, the stair gate locked and allow her to crawl around on the landing with a selection of toys left out. When at the starting to sit unaided phase I used to sit her up in her 'doughnut' on the bathroom floor, again with a variety of toys. Often I showered before she woke up, when she was in bed or when she napped.

I used to leave my two in their cots with a few toys and books. And go really, really fast.

I did find that if they could hear me singing it helped with the screaming.

She's 7 months. I could maybe get an activity table thing, don't fancy lugging her jumperoo up and down every day!

I sometimes used to put ds in the car seat on the bathroom floor so I knew he was safe and he could see me. It's very difficult with a mobile baby. My friend found hers just at the top of her steep staircase when she got out of the shower.

Bath seat with toys and a small about of water? Only works if you have a separate bath and can see them obviously

I leave DS in a childproofed room with the door to the stairs child-locked. The room leads into the bathroom (flat). He potters around (and before that he crawled around) very happily. Before that I just left him on his mat under a mobile. Apart from him occasionally coming in to drop toys in the bath, it seems to work well.

Generally at that age cot with toys or playpen. Have also done travelcot in front of TV . Has varied depending on various houses I've lived in and the layout and number of children I've had. Bigger children are great "Ds1 I've put the baby in his cot, I'm going in the shower, if he cries come and get me".

So I jumped out there and bought a washing basket to pop her in, lined with a blanket and filled with toys.

She's in it now happy as pie

I have never had DS on the bathroom with me, normally leave him to play with his baby gym on the nursery floor, don't waste any time, and just keep an ear out. Now he's bigger I have a baby gate at nursery door just in case.

My initial PFB fears about a wild animal breaking into the house and stealing him, or him spontaneously crawling at 4 weeks and falling down the stairs were unfounded.

when ds outgrew his bouncy chair I started putting him in his cot with some toys and took the moniter into the bathroom. He's always seemed to really enjoy it and it's only starting to wear a bit thin now he's 19 months. I think I'm going to start showering at night soon-there's no way he can be loose in the bathroom whilst I shower!!

Mostly with the big kids! But when on my own, DS crawls around the bathroom playing with bath toys. he's 15 months

He sat in a chair in the bathroom until he looked like he might tip it. Now I just shower while he naps. I use a video monitor so I can keep an eye on him. I've only had to just out the shower mid-shampoo once!

DS has never minded being left in his cot with his mobile etc. now I just chuck toys in. Or I do it at naptime while Ewan the sheep is on and he can't hear the shower over the White noise that sounds... Like a shower! And I bath with him in the evening so I wash that way too. He's never cried when I leave him in a room so as long as he's safe he's on for up to 10 mins before he starts shouting for attention! He's 11.5 months now.

She comes in the bathroom with me. When little on a towel or in boumcer with toys. Once mobile, I shut (and now lock!) the bathroom door, toys on floor, lid down on loo, toilet roll out of reach (she thinks she's an Andrex puppy) and just keep an eye on her.

As a baby I'd put ds in the bouncy chair on the floor of the bathroom. Now he's 3 (and has autism but I'm not sure if that makes a difference here) I take him upstairs and shut all the bedroom doors except his and let him run riot between his bedroom and the bathroom across the hallway , with a stair Gate across the top of the stairs.

I have a shower in the bath and as soon as she could sit up I wouldnplumk her in with me so she would play and I would shower, brush teeth, moisturise and put on underwear then get her out too.

At first he was in the bouncer chair, then lying on the changing mat, kicking, then in the car seat. Then, when he was ridiculously old, I discovered that other people didn't take the baby into the bathroom at all and I started to leave him in front of cbeebies, in his high chair, with a load of toys to throw around. Now that I've finally moved his bedtime earlier than mine I shower when he's asleep.
