Carrying EBM out and about

Hi All

What's the best way to store EBM if I want to take it out and about after being refrigerated in the house? I am finding it weirdly hard to get any info on this!

thanks

I would just put it in the bottle compartment of changing bag, and it was good for about 6 hours. Just warm in a pot of boiled water. If you needed it for longer then I'd take it in insulated lunchbox with freezer pack and it would be fine all day.

ok great thanks, so for 6ish hours it doesn't need to be kept cold?

I used to use ice packs for cool bags if I was going to be out for a while. Luckily it didn't bother her to have it cold.

You could always freeze it, rather than refrigerate it, and then allow it to defrost whilst out and about. Then warm (if necessary) when ready to feed.

Fresh breastmilk has antibodies in, so it lasts longer than formula or cow's.
