6yo DD1 is little for her age. She is about 107cm and weighed about 17kg when I put her on the scales to check if she was too big for her car seat harness about a month ago.
She has had a cough for a couple of weeks, with a high temp. Not eating. I took her to the GP who checked chest, ears and throat etc. GP said just a virus. I mentioned she'd not been eating and she said "I'm just not hungry" which the GP agreed with her was to do with her high temperature.
So the cough hasn't gone but she is getting thinner and thinner and refusing her food.
She has always been a small eater, and has got fussier and fussier. I think now we are down to cheese omelettes. And sometimes sausages. (But only the right sausages!) Raw carrots and raw red pepper. Breakfast cereal (weetabix, cornflakes) sometimes yoghurt, but only at the right temperature
... you get the idea.
I am really worried she's losing weight, but I don't want to make a fuss about it. Inside, I am going "JUST EAT YOUR DINNER" !
Am I better off just giving her what she'll eat (includes fruit) or should I persevere with getting her to eat family meals?
I cook each day normal food, shepherds pie, tuna pasta bake, lasagne, quiche, stir-fry, sometimes fish pie, toad in the hole, roasts, etc.
She just picks the tiniest, tiniest amount. I don't know how she stays alive, and she has these huge dark circles under her eyes.
