What time does your 11-year old go to bed during the week in termtime?

Having a slight difference of opinion with DS1, so would like to hear what time other 11-year olds call it a night!

About 9pm or thereabouts. Does that help or have I just landed you in it?

Depends how much sleep he needs, really. As a rule if they can wake up easily at the time they need to get up, then that's the right bedtime.

Dd1 (11, year 7) goes to bed at 9.30, lights out at 10. Or thats the theory. But anytime she oversleeps in the morning (she has to leave home at 7.15 to get to school) it's lights out at 9.30 for a while.

We aim for upstairs at 9.00 -9.15, with lights straight out. He (11.5 in year 7) chats to us downstairs or reads something, in order to unwind, before going to bed. He needs to be out of the house by 8am on school mornings.

Well, he's usually asleep by 9:45 - 10pm, so I'll keep quiet about your post, wordgirl!

Frogs, they don't need to get up early as they're home educated, hence his attempts to push for a slightly later time! I agree that it depends how much sleep they need, and he's usually up and about by 8:15 - 8:30am.

Thanks for your posts.

Somewhere between nine and ten (two other children in the bathroom queue). DS1 gets up at 6.30 and leaves the house at 7am.

9pm, no later but saying that he watched the whole Arsenal match last night.

Thanks for your responses.
I can't remember what time I used to go to bed at that age, but I know I was doing a paper round at 12, so used to go very early then.

My dd is nearly 11. She is in bed by 8.30. She still has a story, so I read to her for 15 minutes or so and its lights out at 8.45. SHe gets up at 7.15.

ha - will have to try and get DS2 to bed earlier - he's 11 and in Y7 and goes to bed about 9.30/9.45 pm - gets up at 7 am as soon as his alarm goes off though. seems to have plenty of energy
