Telling Tales

I have 3 lovely boys aged 5, 5 and 8. They are mostly very well behaved, but I'm not sure of the best way to deal with the constant tale telling! Half the time it's even in front of me when I have seen what is going on! I don't want to encourage it, but also don't want the bad behaviour to go unnoticed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Nothing helpful to add but marking my place. DDs are 6 and 8 and do the same (mainly the younger telling tales on the older one). I try sometimes to explain that if whatever they're doing isn't hurting anyone I don't need to know but then I still want them to keep communicating so I get myself in a bit of a muddle. Hope someone else is more help!
