Breast Milk Bags - Recommendations please!

I'm currently EBFing my 7 week old DS, but would like to start expressing and building a stock up for future use when he is being looked after by my DH and other family members. I have a Phillips Avent manual breast pump, which I've used once (just to see how it worked!) and it seemed to work well. Can anyone recommend good storage bags for the expressed milk or the best way to store it in the freezer if not in bags?

Thank you! Smile

I express for DD a lot and always use boots own brand milk bags they have always worked fine for us

Same as Lucy. Also advantage card points!

I found Medela bags to be great. I've never spilt any and they store well in the freezer. They also have tabs on the top so you can pump directly into the bag (I have the Medela swing so it works with that but not sure about other pumps).

I've only ever used the Lansinoh bags with both my DSs. I think I hit leaky ones twice, but they were both in the same box, so I think it was just a duff batch. Otherwise, no complaints and I think I was able to get them with my online Tesco shop, so easily come by.

latium I had no idea that was what those tabs are for... feel stupid for not reading the packet now lol!! That will save me using a bottle every time!

Good good Applecore. That will save you some washing / sterilising.

I have mothercare ones, no complaints here

Thanks all for your suggestions! I'll buy a selection and give them a go!

I'm a milk donor and I always use these fantastic Axifeed bottles recommended by the hospital

www.amazon.co.uk/Orthofix-AXifeed-Breast-Storage-Bottles/dp/B00PDRSKVQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1437334665&sr=8-1&keywords=sterile+bottle+100ml

They screw directly into the medela pump (& other brands) and are much more stable than bags, and the measurements marked on the outside are more reliable. Reusable.

Thanks SouthLondon1 - will have a look at getting some!
