Hi all,
After many months of discussion of the pros and cons of having children. DH and I have decided to 'casually try' for a little one.
I am super scared and unfortunately some threads on here don't make me feel any better!
So, please tell me what you enjoy about being a parent/what has made you smile today!

Glad that people are enjoying this post :) I guess we all need reminding once in a while of the good as it's easy to focus on the negatives. Another friend said that there are few people that are 100% sure when thinking of having a baby but I suppose the fact that I am thinking hard about it shows me that I care and I would want to do a good job.

Will keep you posted and thank you for your encouragement.

The look of complete love that I get from my DS when I walk back into the room, it's like I've been away for weeks and not just popped to the kitchen for a biscuit Wink

He's only 11 months old but I so hope he always looks at me like that, it makes my heart happy!

I love everything about being a mum what I will tell you is don't have 5 kids in 5 years you miss out on so much of your children growing up the frost few years of you child's life is getting to know them and the things the like and don't enjoy every minute of being a mum before you know it they don't need you as much as they use too you start to feel a little lost but it will be the best thing you ever do with your life xxx

My 5 year old DD has been at grans for a week (school hols) and her tiny 1 year old sister nearly knocked her over in the hall when she came in the front door! It was like a little bowling ball as she tried to get a cuddle.

I may have got something in my eye....

When you're cuddling them and you smell their hair and feel their little chubby soft cheeks on you and their wee eyelashes tickle your face. That's the best.

Also, it makes you see your husband in a whole new light. If you've got a good man, watching him as a Dad makes him seem a whole lot more amazing. (And, if you've landed a shit, then fatherhood will show up all his flaws).

Agree Kiwi Smile

I clearly remember asking my useless exH "what are you for?" Very shortly after our baby was born.

We lasted another 6 months Smile

I was reminded recently that one of the reasons I always wanted children was the absolute privilege in being around for someone's formative years, knowing and seeing them when they are young.

I love seeing DS learn and discover new things.
