when my 12 year old was younger he used to sleep walk/ have night terrors. it was really obvouse.

with my 8 year old im not sure what to make of it. he gets up in the night to go to the toilet. he gos up and down the stairs about 4 times sometimes i have to take him by the hand and take him to the toilet. other times he finds his own way. sometimes he just gets back in his own bed and thats it. other times hes ended up in my bed or his sisters bed. The other night he done all the pacing then went to get into my bed. my older son said to him what are you doing. younger son said: in a min. got in my bed and was a sleep. he never remembers it in the morning.. not sure if hes sleep walking or just very tried... it normally happens 90 mins to 2 hours after hes gone to bed.

sounds like sleep-walking, it runs in families. DH & DD both did.

I slept walked as a child and into my late teens and apart from a handful of a weird incidents, it was just as you describe, very mundane stuff. Sometimes I would hold fully covert conversations and remember absolutely nothing of it in the morning. I seemed to have grown out if it. I think, unless my husband doesn't notice me wandering the house at night. Which is entirely possible since he never seems to hear DS screaming at 2am! Hmm

Coherent not covert. I wasn't a sleep walking spy !
