Bathing 9 month old

Do you use a bath seat or just let them sit freely in the bath? Any recommendations? Thanks

Sit freely in the bath; we found the seats a bit restrictive. Get a good rubber mat that sticks to the bottom on the bath and keep the water shallow enough for them to crawl in if they are mobile. Obviously supervise at all times, with or without a bath seat.

Sit freely. My DS never had a bath seat. His dad went in with him as he got confident in the water but soon there wasn't room for daddy's long legs so he now baths solo.

DS sits freely and I have it very shallow so I can lie him down as well for a splashy kick!

We used a bath seat until she could confidently sit unaided and then just let her sit in the bath but I agree with westcountry that a good rubber mat is good to stop them slipping. Now mine tries to stand up in the bath!!

Sit in the bath, no need for a seat if they can sit unaided

Ds sits freely and crawls about in the bath. He sits on a good bath mat so doesn't slip.

Dd is 10 months. We use a baby bath that she sits freely in.

I have a baby bath tub. My almost 2 year old still fits in it and when I tell him it is bath time he points to the baby bath tub. I tried bathing him in the normal (adult) bath tub but he hates it. And my 8 month old loves sitting in it too..

We sit ours up in a tub (to save water as our bath is huge!) ... its just a large cleaning tub not a baby bath. Works great!

Dd sits on a mat and crawls around, splashes etc. we've never had a seat.

Just sat them in. Before they could sit confidently we just held then or go in with them
