DS sobbing to have nappy back on

DS has been doing really well with wees on potty, toilet and letting me know when we are out.

He tends to do poos in pants or when he has a nappy on for naps or at night.

This morning he has cried and cried and cried to have a nappy back on.

Shall I do it or will that undo the good work so far with wees.

Dont do it! Dd1 was like this and she still asks now. Dd has been realy hard to potty train, we have used stickers as a reward for not wearing a nappy and using potty.

Today is her first day fully clothed without nappy!

I would let him have it on

You don't have to do potty training all at once, it can be gradual, or a lot of us have waited until our children are really ready and decide for themselves

He may be physically ready but not mentally ready

I wouldn't push it, they can get so hung up about it, especially boys IME

maybe he wants to do a poo and is scared of doing it in potty or toilet?

poppynic · 17/11/2006 10:40

I would let him have it back on. He's still only two and I don't see how anyone can learn or develop new skills when they are stressed/crying/sick/tried - whatever the current problem is. He might regress a bit with wees but it should easily improve when he's feeling happy and confident.

Nappy back on and hes fallen asleep. Im guessing he doent feel too good as hes usually 100 mph constantly.
