Last night 10 month DS in shorts romper and 0.5 tog bag, 24 degrees. He must like the heat because he slept through for the first time in his life!

TheBookofRuth · 01/07/2015 10:08

I put my DS in a 1 tog grobag in just his nappy last night, with the window open. He slept through, which suggests I got it about right.

I can't sleep without something over me, even just a thin sheet, so I assume the same for the kids!

My three month old DD was perfectly happy in just a sleepsuit and no blanket/grinch, we had windows open too. I also set an alarm to feed her at 2am to avoid her getting dehydrated as she normally sleeps though!! She had a very sleepy 15min feed and was straight back to sleep, seemed grateful for the fluid too Smile

Gro-bag. How it came up with grinch I'm not sure!!

Changed my mind, it feels much hotter than last night. Putting him down in just a nappy with a muslin draped over him.

feezap · 01/07/2015 20:23

Just a nappy, he's a hot baby at the best of times Smile

MumOfOne14 · 01/07/2015 20:29

Great thread, was wondering it myself, mines in a vest & romper (hates blankets) & I have a fan on. He's quite a hot baby, so I have a fan on most of the day ????

Lamaitresse · 01/07/2015 21:00

32 degrees in kids rooms tonight - 17 month dd in just a nappy & older ds in birthday suit. It is just too hot!

BlueThursday · 01/07/2015 21:07

I've managed to get the room down to 23.5, think the fan will be staying on all night

monkey2014 · 01/07/2015 21:11

How did you cool the room down? Nothing is working here!

Freshoutofideas83 · 01/07/2015 21:15

My 8 month old is just in a nappy. Open windows, wet towels on window sill, fan on and frozen bottles in front of fan....reads 30c in her room but slowly getting cooler. Far too warm for babies today!

Buglife · 01/07/2015 22:26

Tonight it's over 26 so it's a 0.5 tog bag over a nappy. He was in a vest as well but he was sweaty after an hour so I took the vest off. I hate it being so hot, his blinds clank against the window in the breeze of I open it and he wakes up, but if I pull the blind up it will be getting light at 4am so he will wake up! So I have his door open and all the other windows in the house open, the landing has no window so it stays darkish in the morning.

Beetleandbug · 01/07/2015 22:44

My 8 month old is in just a nappy with a damp muslin draped over him. 28 in his room. Do you think the damp muslin will make him too cold? He sleeps on his tummy so I'm worried about over heating

BlueThursday · 02/07/2015 06:37

I'm in Glasgow so it wasn't as hot as some places.

Had the fan going pretty much all day yesterday with the blinds down in the room.

It's still close to 24 here though even though it's bucketing down

ohthegoats · 02/07/2015 08:49

It was 31 upstairs in our house last night, even with windows open. It turned out that child didn't consider sleep a viable proposition until 10.30 after a random 'more fluids' feed. I managed to get her down in her cot, but it took over half an hour of thrashing - but she was just in a nappy. Despite having played with damp muslins all day, she cried when one got anywhere near her last night. At midnight she was up and whinging, so I just went and got her and put her next to me on top of our bed (boyfriend had gone into spare room)... she went out like a light and slept until 5am. Then amazingly went back to sleep until 7.15. Not too bad really.
