well ms has some probs with the rear end emilination....adn has been perscribed Movicol...anyway, GP said to use it first 1 sachet a day and wait and see, so, after a week of complete notjing we gave ms 2 sachets, and that brought it in, but am sure there is still more left...but because of the constant pooing, habit of his anyway, only now the amounts are larger....we thought, ok maybe he is ready to reduce the dose to 1 a day again...was this maybe to early....he did poop today, but not in that volume, iykwim....would it be better to continoue with a higher dose for a bit longer....?
Just wondering of others experiences with this!
MS just turned 4 but it the size of a dinly 3 year old, bless...

DD had quite a bad problem and was on 2 sachets a day for a month when she was nearly 5. That certainly cleared her out (not something I look back on fondly) She is now on her maintenance dose of 1 sachet per day.

The doc can tell if there is more up there when they feel thier tummies.

If she is pooing dailoy now I should think it is OK as that is what dd does now. When she was on 2 sachets it filled her pants and ran down her legs .... HTH

If she has had a big pooh, then i would go back to one sachet. We have this with DS1, he's 8. He doesn't take his all the time though, maybe about every 2/3 months for a month to get regular.

DS prescribed Movicol too, if he has gone 5 days or so then I would reduce back to one sachet, if it was 10 days or so I would do 2 sachets for a couple of days.

HTH

Do sympathise, it is a horrible thing to deal with.

It is, don't help that I feel terrible for letting it go on for so long...but then, have mentioned it to HV's and always been told, nah tis o.k., etc...as long as he goes...which he does, sigh!

If DD gets a bit of a blockage (can tell as we get poo stripes in pants) for a week or so then we go back to 2 sachets for a week, then back to 1
