hot weather coming, what should dd wear for bed time

She's 1, but I still put her in sleepsuits. we live in kent, and we've got a serious heat wave on its way if no one knew just wondering what you would suggest she wears for bed as she's already getting pretty toasty in already short sleeve vest and sleep suit :/ do I do just a short sleeve vest, just a long sleeve vest or just a sleepsuit?

My one year old is in a short sleeved romper for bed and no vest atm, I think they are meant to be day clothes tbh but they are all in one and comfy, 2 for £10 in boots

My 1yo dd is in thin pj's no vest and a 1.5 tog sleeping bag, last night was a long sleeved vest and sleeping bag

Depends how hot it is. I don't put mine in vest and sleepsuit unless it's below 16! Tonight she's in sleeveless vest and 0.5 tog because it's really hot

As sweetsorrow said, I'd go for some of those romper suits (or playsuits, as they're sometimes called). Basically a onesie but with short arms and legs. They're good for daytime too. We had some really fun ones for dd - all supermarket brands.
My dd was and is very hot-blooded (if that's even a thing - quite a hot person, anyway) so would always put her in quite lightweight sleepwear, and cover her in a cellular blanket or two, safe in the knowledge that she could wriggle these off if need be. She always did! We'd go in in the morning in summer and her little limbs would be cold to the touch! But I think there's far greater risk in letting them get over-heated, iyswim.

Depends how hot your house is, but I would say no more than a short-sleeved best and nappy needed in really hot weather. When Dd1 was a baby her room used to get really hot and I put her in a short-sleeved vest with a light cotton sheet over her.

My 1yo is currently in a short sleeved vest and a thin cellular blanket but he is a bit of a hot baby. He normally has a sleeping bag but is getting too sweaty in even a 1tog just now

Do you have a thermometer in the room? My 22mo room is usually about 22 degrees at night at the mo so she is in a no sleeved vest or just a t shirt and 1 tog sleeping bag. Last summer it got up to 26 degrees and she slept in just a vest, no sleeping bag some nights. We have the sun on the back of our house all afternoon and her room gets so warm despite open windows and blinds down.

Either just the very thinnest cover (under 1 tog, basically a thick sheet) plus nappy or a shorty vest.

My big hassle at the moment is sweat rash in those "fat folds" babies have on their limbs and neck.

Depends on the temperature, I am in South East. Between 20 and 22 like last night, mine is in a vest/ 1.0 tog sleeping bag. When it's 23 to 25, a sleepsuit (long sleeve, and feet covered), above 25: a romper (short sleeves and short legs)

The way to keep West facing bedrooms as cool as possible in this weather is blinds down and windows closed once the sun comes round. Essentially if the temp outside is warmer than you want the room to be, close the windows, and vice versa. We have this problem and I have the windows wide open in the morning to freshen the rooms then at lunchtime it's closed up and blinds down. not perfect but as good as we can do without air con. I think tonight will be short sleeve pj top nappy and 1 tog bag for us.

I'm going to go for nappy and 1 tog bag this week I think. She definitely sleeps better in a bag.

As its been so hot, I've been putting my 20 month dd in just her nappy and a light sleeping bag. Her room gets very hot.

It's nearly 26 in the bedroom right now and dd is asleep just in a vest. No blanket.

DD has been in a short sleeved vest and 1 tog gro bag for about a week now. Will drop the gro bag if it gets any hotter in her room!

Although mine hasn't been in vest and sleep suit since about March, she hates being too hot.

Another one whose babies just slept nappies. Dc1 sleeps naked with a quilt over him whatever the weather. Dc2 sleeps either naked or in pyjamas (and kicks any covers off hence pyjamas on cooler months). Saves ££ on pyjamas .

I've got ds 4 months in a sleepsuit and a thin blanket tonight I've got the window open slightly at the minute but I'll probably close it later on

first night last night of stripping her down a bit and just put her in a very thing short sleeve vest and she went off and slept fine, she's still asleep now!
