DD2 keeps taking her nappy off. She has no problems with me putting it on so she obviously doesn't mind but thinks its hilarious to take it off again. She'll pull down her skirt or trousers and whips it off. Yesterday she was wearing dungarees and it was only when i realised there was shit trailed through the house that I noticed she was not wearing her nappy. Last week she took it off during the night and as I didn't go into her room until the following morning she was sleeping in a bed of wee. To resolve this we put her in pull ups but they obviously don't hold that much and by the morning, we're lucky if we catch her dry. Have tried going in to check at night but she awakens the instant I put the hand on her door handle. Don't really want to put her in pull ups through the day as they're more costly but I suppose I may have to, although she is learning to pull these down too. Any thoughts please.

Have you tried putting her in the vests that button up underneath her nappy? These are much more difficult to get off. Or putting a pair of knickers over the top of the nappy.

Agree vests with poppers are the way to go - and they're cosy this time of year too. Extra tape to supplement the sticky tabs may also be successful.

As I don't have any vests, I may put extra sticky on them just to see how she goes. I actually think thats a good idea.

I've heard putting them on back to front works???

totaleclipse · 16/11/2006 19:14

My dts used to do this, it drove me up the wall, selotape or nasking tape around the nappy put a stop to it.

totaleclipse · 16/11/2006 19:14

masking tape even

biglips · 16/11/2006 19:17

the only thing that works for me after a month of DD taking her nappy off!!...grrr! was pampers pull-ups and a bodysuit on over it at everytime...it works perfect!!! my dd is now 25m and still takes the nappy off but cannot take the pampers pull-ups off (At night time i use nappy as it absorbs wee more than the pull ups but she doesnt take the nappy off much as she used to)

amynnixmum · 16/11/2006 19:18

ds used to do this so at night I put in a zip up sleepsuit put on back to front that even with his most determind efforts he could not get at to undo. This solved the night time problem
