Tips for helping sensitive child please

DS is 5 and is such a sensitive little soul. He takes any slight criticism to heart and I hate seeing him affected by minor disputes or comments. He is confident and secure but struggles with 'comebacks' if anyone says anything slightly disparaging. An example tonight would be a playmate called him a moaning baby (he wasn't being like that at all actually) Instead of saying anything back I could see him take it so much to heart and he's mentioned it a few times later this evening.
We are going through a house move (and possible school move) he doesn't seem bothered really as I've tried many times to chat about it and how he feels about it. But maybe this is making him more unsettled/ sensitive?
Any tips on how to help sensitive children? Or give them some comebacks to use if people are a bit mean to them?
Thanks
