Toilet training 2 children at the same time

My nearly 3 and a half year old son has refused to have anything to do with toilet training so far - well, actually he will sometimes sit on the potty but will never do anything and then does a big wee as soon as he gets off. So, he doesn't like the potty and maybe we will skip that and go straight to the toilet. Anyway, my 2 year old son has started telling me if he's done a poo and will quite happily sit on the potty (but again, has yet to produce anything!). I'm thinking of going 'cold turkey' when I've got a couple of weeks off work in December and putting them both in pants to see what happens. We've been taking them to the toilet with us, bought Thomas pants that they're thrilled with so we're kind of ready to go. Is this a really bad idea? Has anyone else toilet-trained 2 at a time? I'm thinking it could be good or it could be really, really bad...

you won't know until you try !

I did my twins at the same time (maybe not the same thing though) - there was no way one was going to do and the other not join in .

Honestly - just try and see - you may find it spurs DS1 on to prove he is the big boy.
