Shoes dilemma!

Hi,
I went to Brantano about a month ago to get my 19 month old DS's feet measured. He has been wearing size 5 shoes from Jones all winter. Brantano said he was a 6 so I bought some Poddles canvas trainer type shoes for him. Then I went to Clarks to get him some sandals today and they measured his feet as 7F!! So for months he has not been a size 5 or 6! I'm worried this has affected his development of his feet or legs. Does anyone know anything about this? I feel like a terrible mum now! But his feet showed no signs of soreness and he never complained when he wore his shoes from Jones! He has only just stopped wearing them now. Feeling terrible!
Thanks

Different brands of shoes come up different sizes. I always found Clarks shoes seemed to come up half a size smaller than some other brands. If he still had toe wiggle room in his shoes and wasn't uncomfortable then I wouldn't worry.

Sizes are different in different shops, don't worry! They all use different measuring devices. DD is a 5 in Clarks but a 5 from anywhere else swamps her. His feet will be fine Smile

Can't comment or help but wanted to say that Clarks have always measured too big for my daughter. Was apparent and proven when she tried on open toed sandals in the size they reckoned she should be

Thanks all for your replies - how quick were you all?! Well, it was difficult to tell where his toes were in the shoes as they had a hard toe to them. But they always seemed to fit fine. I have found the sandals from Clarks quite big for him but at least his toes are protected in them as they do not hang over the edge of the shoe! Jones said that their feet need to be measured every 8 weeks I think and my mother in law said that was rubbish!! They just say that to get you back there!

Clarks comes up at least half size smaller than everyone else.
8 weeks isn't outrageous for a 19month old, but I think 12 weeks would usually be fine, too (keep in mind I have kids with tiny never-growing feet).

thanks ragged! I thought his feet just weren't growing too!
