what patterns do you love/hate on kids clothes?

i have a DS.

i love spots, checks, stars, swirly and wavy patterns.

hate stripes both horizontal and vertical.

I seem to lean towards stripes. Yesterday both DSs and I were in stripes and I hadn't even noticed until we went to the park and realised it looked like we were in a family uniform.

Love stars, animals, stripes, dots, dinosaurs, cars

Hate characters, slogans, random numbers, sports logos, Football!

Hate - beige on white clouds etc aka naice newborn, pastel pink hearts etc.
Love - bright "80s" patterns, animals, animal prints, geometric patterns.
I prefer multi to one colour.

...oh and skulls and "rock" stuff on girls. only problem is it tends to cost £16 or so for a gro, as they clearly think only very middle class people and rock stars don't want pink pink pink.

MyFirst if you do make that pattern, ignore what she says about using a zig zag stitch to finish the ribbing, and use the directions in (you guessed it) Ottobre pattern magazine, which is to finish it with a double needle.

I am now the proud owner of an overlocker and loooove sewing jersey for kids. So quick!

Ausflug they are pricey but a lot of the Scandinavian brands have what you might like but maybe a bit bright? e.g. Maxomorra, and Smafolk. For me again Ebay rather than buying new.

I thought h&m had some nice patterned dresses for girls this season, haven't bought ... Yet

I quite like stripes on both dd and ds, guilty of the surf type t shirts for ds AND the chimps! And alas he loves character t shirts.

Like stars too but rarely see those.

Not keen on check or gingham.

Not keen on flowers or butterflies unless old fashioned (think broderie lace) or quirky.
