Just dropped my buggy backwards :(

I took 7 month old DD out for her first trip in her new buggy having bought a lighter weight stroller at the weekend after getting sick of our bulky travel system. We had a great time - she enjoyed being front facing, I enjoyed how easy it was to steer, she fell asleep easily and I was just about to see if I could get her in the house without waking her when it happened Sad

I must have underestimated how much I needed to tip it back to get up on the pavement due to having a heavier buggy previously and it fell backwards, probably pulled down by the changing back hanging on the handle. She screamed of course, but so would I if someone tipped me out of bed backwards. She's fine, it wasn't a massive drop so no big bump although obviously I'll keep an eye on her.

Anyone else had buggy mishaps they can share to make me feel better?

Buy some buggy weights for the front - they work Grin

I went to IKEA with the double and the DTs. I was feeling SO proud of myself after feeding them without event and getting round with no screaming, until I very publicly tipped the buggy backwards after putting a rug on the handles while I got pic n mix.

My buggy tipped over on a windy day! It was terrifying - I just got caught in what felt like a wind tunnel and I had to cling on to the handles for dear life! My changing bag and shopping flew out of the basket and down the street. 2 ladies came along and helped to pull me into a shop and one stayed and consoled me while the other ran after my belongings! They were angels! DS was well strapped in and completely unaffected by it as he was still quite tiny but I was traumatised for ages!

My DH had some issues with the buggy when DS was first born. I commented on how happy I was with it and how easy it was to push and DH said "it's not great at handling curbs". I was surprised until I was out with him pushing it and realised that instead of tipping it back so the front wheels raised when he came to go up a curb he just pushed it at the curb - like you'd drive a car! Poor DS!

That sounds scary Mawsy. The wind can really get behind the buggy can't it? I've had to hold on tight a few times.
