Thrush?

My daughter is nearly 6 weeks old and I've noticed a thickish white discharge right inside her vagina/vulva. In hospital the midwife said a bit of discharge is normal immediately post birth but I'm wondering if this is thrush. How can you tell? What should I be doing? Should I clean it all off or leave it there? First baby so don't really know what to do. Help please.

I don't know anything about thrush, but if I were you I'd just go see the health visitor next clinic and ask for her advice. hth.

D/k ... but if thrush you may (I think) also see white spots in her mouth? Is pretty common in babies, so worth checking out - esp if you're b/f, as you and the baby will 'reinfect' each other.Very treatable and painfree, btw
