A friend's 15 year old is babysitting my two DC (2 and 5) one evening this week for a couple of hours. They should be asleep so he is free to play video games do homework and I'll provide suitable snacks. What should I pay him? Friend says nothing (!) but the first question he asked was whether he was being paid :o

£15 and transport home.

We pay £5/hour plus lift home.

Friend is dropping him off and giving me a lift so she'll take him home again. £15 sounds about right. A tenner seemed stingy and £20 too much, although maybe not too much if either DC wakes up :o They love him but would insist on charging round the house and playfighting him rather than going back to bed.
