Sometimes she just needs a good cry

Has anyone else found this? Dd is 6 months old, ebf, fed to sleep and sleeps with me for all naps. I don't let her cry, just because she's always been an easy baby and it has generally been easy to stop her crying (as opposed to ds, aka the king of tantrums).

However I've noticed that in the evening she won't settle for me whether I offer boob or not. The only thing that works is for Dh to take her for 5 minutes, she has a good scream while he holds her and then when I take her back she's straight on the boob and asleep within minutes. It's like she really needs to let it all out before she can calm down.

DS2 is like this. I'm currently sitting next to him while he's in his cot having a grumble/cry as I KNOW he's exhausted but he won't bfeed. I know if I pick him up in 5 mins he's latch on and be asleep in seconds.
This is prett much the only times I leave him to cry. He's also 6mo

I wonder if it's an age thing at around 6 months?

My ds would start crying in our arms and fighting us. At about 9mo we realised he actually wanted put down to sleep and would settle after 5mins on his own (vs. 20mins plus of fighting if we held/rocked him).

My DS always cried as he went to sleep, for naps and nighttime. I held him for all his naps and rocked to sleep, still cried. Stopped at about 8 months!
