breastfeeding support - hungry baby?

Hi
My dd is 4.5 months and until recently we've got on swimmingly with her breastfeeding. However for the last few weeks she's been really really hungry, taking both boobs (usually only one) and very often vomiting afterwards - as if she's gorged herself. She seems annoyed also and wanting to feed more often. I know there are all sorts of growth spurts but this is different, her weight is spot on. Should I be thinking about offering something extra? My head says no, but my gut says yes.

No just keep with the bf. It could be teething and the sucking is comforting but doesn't actually want the milk.

It's common to have a growth spurt now I think which is why it was common to wean at this point in the past.

my ds went through a little patch of feeding LOADS then, it did pass, as you say theres lots of growth and developmental stuff happening so some might be for food and some comfort. Your milk is the most calorific, nutritious thing you can give right now - if you were to start weaning before 6 months it would basically just be fruit and veg (and rice and porridge?) which is obviously not as filling. Keep going!!
