I am going to crack up, leaky nappy after every sleep!

Seriously what is going on they are the correct size (stage 4 and he is 17lb), I spend ages making sure it is properly on, adjust leg bits, make sure it isn't folded over on the back etc. But pretty much every time he wakes up of a morning or after a long nap he has wet through it on to his clothes at the side and back and the nappy doesn't even feel full. 5 pissing grobags I have gone through in 4 days.

Am I missing something here? Never had this problem with DD!

We use the posh Pampers baby dry ones at night to stop that. Cheapo supermarket ones for the day!

Pampers just don't understand how it comes out the back and sides when he sleeps on his back!

You need to change your nappy brand some are better than others at night

Different brands fit differently. Babies change shape/size. Dd could wear Pampers Babydry, but Pampers Active Fit leaked like a sieve. Similarly she was in Huggies up to size two, then they started leaking hence the switch to Pampers.

I find pampers a really poor fit for my DD, they're just not the right shape for her. We tried lots of brands and find tesco more suited to her - I'd definitely try some other brands as they are all cut a little differently, you might need to try a few..

Jesus, ill just go and buy one of each brand then I think this year will be the one I need a new washing machine!

I always had this trouble with Pampers because the absorbent core doesn't stretch back far enough.

Get some reusable nappies for night time. They can be boosted more to prevent leaks.

A one size fits all type like Wonderoos v3. Add both boosters supplied in, and can buy additional hemp booster if still needed. Will cost about £30 to get 3 ( allowing for washing every 2 days and one spare to wear whilst others drying). But will last until nappies no longer needed ( bare in mind many toddlers are potty trained in day months/ years before fully dry at night)

Also try sitting baby on toilet a few minutes before night nappy put on, encourage them to wee until it becomes a habit. Will mean they don't empty bladder soon after nappy is on

Just some ideas based on my experience. If the nappy itself is soaked and then leaking then go up a size (obvious I suppose, sorry!)

If the nappy is kind of dry but his clothing and sleeping bag are wet then ensure that his penis is straight and pointing downwards between the two tracks of elastic at each side of his nappy before securing. I had this issue with one of my DS's who is a bit bigger in that department than his brothers.

Yy to making sure it's pointing down! I had a dd first so didn't know this for ds, thought I was going crazy as always had dryish nappies and soaking clothes!

Yes to the pointing down. It took me a littl while to work that one out when I had my first boy

Also using sudocrem as a barrier cream can stop the nappies absorbing liquid properly. You just need a tiny bit and make sure it's rubbed in.

Or just go up a size at night?

We had to use one of my maternity pads stuck to the inside top front of DS nappies at night for a while. I was despairing because he was 18mo but in 6+ and I had had nowhere to go!
Luckily, he seems to have gradually become more continent, and the leaks have stopped.

You could pop a reusable booster inside a disposable nappy for extra absorbency

My dd1 never ever leaked. We used Asda and pampers.
Dd2 leaked six times a day when she was about 2 weeks onwards. Leaked in pampers, Sainsburys, Asda, tesco etc. then we tried aldis and they've been fab. No more leaks

Think she must just be a different shape to dd1 and different brands suit different babies.

My dd is nearly 17lbs and is in the 3+ pampers size. We don't ever have any leaks with just wet nappies. I use the pampers baby dry at night and active fit in the day. Am about to move up to a size 4 in baby dry for night as they are A slightly smaller fit due to the extra absorbent and not such stretchy sides. Might be worth trying different sizes and brands. If you have any friends with similar aged babies, ask if you can borrow one or two of their nappies of different types to try, saves buying and probably wasting whole bags!

We had this in the size 4 baby dry pampers OP, and I just went up to size 4+, higher absorbency and haven't had any more leaks - worth a try with a small pack?

I always found pampers crap. I used Huggies with all of mine and rarely had a leak.

My son used to leak every single night and I used to put a nappy on forward then a nappy on backwards over it... Funnily enough I never thought to change brands

We had it every night so now put morrisons incontinence pad inside his nappy ( in a blue packet) the ones for extra absorbancy and the leaks have stopped

My dd always leaked with pampers but I was reluctant to change as it was supposed to be the 'best brand'. However I did change and I found Asda or aldi nappys great and never had a problem, no leaking, nice fit and they actually feel alot softer than pampers

Aldi nappies are great. Cheaper and better than pampers imo. Not had any leaks except the time she woke up after 11 hours asleep with a full nappy and I thought I'd give her milk first and then she did a big fat poo I love aldi nappies now!
