Hi

My daughter is 5 weeks old today. Up until this week she pooed every day a few times a day. This week she did a very small one on Monday and then nothing since, it's now Thursday. She is breastfed. She is my first baby so unsure if this is normal or I should be getting her checked by someone? Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Julie

Both my bf DS only pooed weekly from about 4 weeks of age! DS2 could go 10 days!!

It's not a problem - except for catching the resulting vast amount of poo in one small nappy!!

My DS (now 4) was bf and currently bf DD 4.5months. Both would often go several days without pooing (was a bit worried with DS as the books said that bf babies pooed regularly!!).
So agree with shazronnie that there's nothing to worry about.

(BTW would recommend totsbots as the best reusables to cope with the huge poo explosions!!)

Its something to do with the digestive system becoming more mature and processing breast milk more efficiently. Thats why they dont poo as much when they are older. Completely normal i believe.
