Am I jumping the gun here?

Hi all,
I'm trying (for the 2nd time) to potty train my dd of 28 months. I'm sure she knows exactly what's going on, but she will not do anything on the potty. She did one wee 1 day last week, but so far that really is all.
She clenches herself and is quite willing to sit on the potty, but she can't seem to relax enough to let the wee/poo out, even if she is desperate to go.
I've tried ignoring it, sympathising, and gently encouraging. I've tried rewards (stickers/sweets/choc buttons), but nothing seems to work.
Any help/advise on this?

Try skipping the potty and putting her straight on to the loo. That way you can run a tap without drawaing attintion to it, and the sound and sight of running water may help her to go. You could also give her a book, or read to her while she's on the loo as another way of helping her to relax. She may need a step to rest her feet on and help her balance in order to feel relaxed about it.

Thanks PrettyCandles, I'll give anything a go.
