My LO is 5.5 months old and im looking to start weaning her off BF as of June time. We go on hols next week and think its wise to continue whilst abroad. At the moment she has one bottle of formula at night as a dream feed, and takes 6-7oz. She was also, up until last week, taking a bottle of EBM during the day...but she has decided she doesnt want that now and screams until she is BF! Looking for all hints and tips. A gradual wean or a quicker wean...all ideas welcome! I go back to work in september. Regardless of work, we are ready as a family to wean onto bottle. Im pretty chuffed i got to 6 months!

Many thanks xx

Well done getting to 6 months :) have you thought of doing baby led weaning? There's a couple books out there ( get the recipe one, much less waffle). We're doing that with DD as she won't let us spoon feed her.

Hi - I mean weaning off Breast onto formula, and I'll wean food along side also. I think I will do s but of baby led when I introduce solids, and see how we go! I'm ready to stop bf altogether now....just how do I about it??! X

I'm not an expert but from what I've read...

Just before weaning/early into it is the age where baby's milk intake is the highest. So I'd say gradual approach if you don't want to get massive engorgement.

Introduce one extra bottle feed at a time, and give a week or so for your supply to settle. Then introduce another bottle.

Sorry I can't help with refusing bottle, try your OH to give it to her, or don't give expressed milk, only formula from bottle if she's happy to drink it.
